Here is some basic but important information about patents!
What is a patent?
- A Property Right:
- Right to exclude other from making, using, selling, offering for sale a claimed invention
- Territorial: Protection only in territory that granted patent: NO WORLD WIDE PATENT.
Types of patents
–Utility: Any new and useful process, machine, article of manufacture, or composition of matter.
– Design: A new original, and ornamental design for an article of manufacture.
– Plant: Any distinct and new variety of plant that is invented or discovered and asexually reproduced.
